Rogers in town to buy the farm

Commodities trader Jim Rogers is forecasting the beginning of a soft commodities and rural land boom and says it will start in Australia. Mr Rogers, known for his investment prowess alongside George Soros, is in Australia to launch a new rural land fund which is seeking to raise up to $350 million to buy farms in northern NSW. In an exclusive interview with The Australian Financial Review, Mr. Rogers said the growing risk of inflation as well as growing demand for soft commodities from Asia would fuel the demand for agricultural land.

Converted Organics Announces First TerraSphere Lettuce Crop Shipped to Choices Markets

(Nasdaq:COIN - News) announced today that TerraSphere Systems, LLC has shipped its first crop of lettuce under the Eco Spirit label for its licensee, the Squamish Nation, to Choices Markets, Western Canada's largest natural and organic grocer. The TerraSphere shipment contained 71.3 pounds of fresh romaine lettuce which traveled from the TerraSphere facility in Surrey, British Columbia to local Choices Markets, providing fuel efficiency and reduced shipping costs.
